Mavromichalai

Mavromichalai stands proudly at the center of Limeni and offers its visitors serenity, hospitality, and traditional Mani aesthetics. This stone-built historical and preserved building, also known as "Sissitio," was the birthplace and first residence of Petrobeis Mavromichalis, Warlord of Mani and one of the Leaders of the Hellenic Revolution against the Ottoman Turks in 1821. The unique residence was built in 1762, and its restoration was completed in 2007 in honor of the heroic family of Mavromichalai.
